Dr. Chad Hickox

Dr. Chad Hickox became the fifth president of Walla Walla Community College in 2020, having served as Executive Vice President/Provost and Vice President of Instruction since 2018. Former employment includes Helena College (Chief Academic Officer); South Seattle College (Chief Data and Strategy Officer; and Dean of Academic Programs), and Macomb Community College in Michigan (tenured Philosophy faculty). Throughout his career he has worked to create access and support for students of all levels of academic preparedness and ability, including building programs and securing funding to recruit and support historically underserved students such as students of color, students without the financial means to attend college, and students with no family history of college-going. He recently led the creation of a Promise Scholarship – Warrior Pledge – that will provide access and support for students in perpetuity. He graduated from The College of Idaho with honors, and the University at Buffalo (New York), where he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy.
