Patricia Moy is also the Christy Cressey Professor of Communication and adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science, where her research and teaching revolve around public opinion and political communication. She sits on the editorial board of leading journals in the field and is editor-in-chief of Oxford Bibliographies in Communication. Her prior service to the discipline includes serving as editor of Public Opinion Quarterly as well as president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research, World Association for Public Opinion Research, and International Communication Association, where she is also an elected fellow. Moy earned her B.S. and M.S. in communication from Cornell University, after which she worked for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty studying public opinion in the former Soviet Union. She returned to academia, earning her Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and joined the UW in 1998.
