Patricia Charlton

Patricia “Patty” Charlton, Vice President Finance & Administration, has served in higher education administrative and executive leadership for the past 30 years. At the College of Southern Nevada, Patty served in a variety of positions including senior vice president of finance & administration/chief of staff; senior vice president for strategic initiatives & administration; and vice president/provost Henderson Campus/chief facilities officer. Charlton retired in 2022 and was recognized with the title of Emeritus Vice President.

In April 2023, Charlton was appointed acting vice chancellor for academic & student affairs, responsible for coordinating higher education issues, policies, and programs for NSHE’s workforce and community colleges. In August 2023 she was appointed to serve as Interim Chancellor, where she served in the role of the chief executive officer, ex- officio treasurer within NSHE and represented the organization and institutions to the governor’s office and state legislature.

Patty holds undergraduate degrees from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She earned her Master of Public Administration Degree from UNLV and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in public policy.

A forty-three-year resident of southern Nevada Patty is actively involved in community service, participating in state, regional and national educational organizations and local non-profits. In her free time Patty enjoys the outdoors, watching sports, golfing, traveling, spending time with family and is an avid reader.
