Updated Ethics and DEI Statement

NWCCU’s Ethics and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement was adopted at the June 2022 Commission Meeting as part of NWCCU’s ongoing DEI efforts.

As an accreditor, NWCCU is committed to:

  1. The highest ethical standards in advancing its mission
  2. Serving with integrity, excellence, accountability, and respect
  3. Establishing a diverse workforce that reflects the commission’s membership
  4. Promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice within the organization and among member institutions
  5. Preserving and respecting the unique institutional missions of its member institutions

Please review the complete statement. In accordance with its mission, NWCCU expects its staff, commissioners, evaluators, and contractors to read, understand, and comply with this Ethics and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement, and:

  1. Be welcoming and inclusive
  2. Treat everyone with civility, courtesy, and respect
  3. Exhibit integrity, fidelity, and honesty in all endeavors
  4. Be curious, objective, and open minded about others’ ideas, choices, and beliefs
  5. Recognize and acknowledge contributions of others
  6. Disclose potential conflicts of interest
  7. Expose professional misconduct promptly
  8. Not tolerate or engage in discrimination, harassment, or other toxic behavior
  9. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
